March of Dimes
Annually Almond Oil Company and our affiliated business; Almond's Automotive and Almond's convenience stores raise money for the March of Dimes. This organizations impact made a huge impression on various employees including Chris & Elaine Almond. Chris & Elaine Almond's first son was born 29 week premature, staying in the hospital for over two months. March of Dimes supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. Since 1970, March of Dimes has raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies and Almond Oil Company is proud to be a supporter.
Alachua County Youth Fair
The agriculture industry is a key customer group for Almond Oil Company. Many agriculture families are second, third and sometimes fourth generation. As our Customers children have grown and now their children have grown, the Alachua County Youth Fair teaches these children excellent life skills. Almond Oil Company proudly supports our customers.
Great organization that helps displaced mothers through assistance programs. Almond Oil Company in partnership with Marathon Petroleum assist in providing gas cards for those mothers that need financial assistance. The Displaced Homemaker Program offers empowerment and employment assistance to homemakers who have been dependent upon someone for support which is no longer available to them, who are unemployed and who would have difficulty in securing adequate employment.
University of Florida Athletic Association
As the first North Central Florida based Marathon Petroleum fuel Marketer, Almond Oil Company was integral in introducing Marathon Petroleum to the University of Florida Athletic Association. Currently, Marathon Petroleum supports all the athletic programs including football, baseball and basketball. During home football games, Marathon is presented as the "Marathon Scoring Drive".
Tanks for Watching Contest
In 2012, Almond Oil Company in partnership with GTN News ran a program called "Tanks for Watching Contest". GTN News is a Gainesville, Florida based television station. Almond Oil Company donated $1,500 in Marathon Cash Cards. The Grand Prize Winner, Yvette Mathews, received $1,000 in Marathon Cash Cards plus a free oil change at Almond's Automotive. SEE VIDEO.
